There are many ways you can empower the ladies of Sammunat and help them to start new lives.

Buy our products

Email us if you would like to buy one of the products on our products page. We’re working on our online store and we are establishing secure distribution. In the meanwhile, we have a great travelers network and can safely get products to many places. Please be aware the these items are hand made by ladies doing it tough in a developing country. We are affected by challenging logistics, cramped accommodation, strikes, problems with supply of materials and other issues. In spite of this, we continue to delight many customers in the past who have received gorgeous items in a timely manner. We have dear supporters based in many countries who are happy to sell our products for us.

Tell others about us

The ladies would rather earn their income than rely on donations. (Don’t let us put you off though!) The more people buy our products, the more regular the income the ladies can earn.

Obviously a donation is very gratefully accepted. We have had wonderful donations in the past for specific pieces of equipment like ovens, pasta machines and sewing machines. Please use the Paypal button at the top of this page to donate whatever you feel you can and let us know if you have a specific item in mind. You will receive a receipt and we will let you know how your donation has helped.

What could your money do?

AU$ 30 (NRs 1800/-) means we can get a big block of Kato clay sent to Nepal so ladies can earn money making their gorgeous beads!

AU$50 (NRs 3000/-) would cover the rent of a room we could comfortably fit in for one month. Believe me, this would be incredible!!! It would mean we do not sit in each other s laps while we make our beautiful things and that the ladies being interviewed about their experiences could do this in private!

Here s one for you neat freaks

AU$ 160 (NRS 10,000/-) would mean we could get wooden shelves and cupboards to organize our gear much more efficiently.

AU$ 100 (NRs 6000/-) would pay for a training session that would help the ladies to understand their own rights and the workings of the legal system.

And our biggest dream right now &.

AU$ 4000 ( NRs 240,000/-) would fund a 15 week program for 20 women. The course content has been developed after close consultation with the ladies we work with and covers areas they want training in such as

  • basic health care
  • parenting and communication skills
  • sexual health
  • financial management
  • small business skills
  • knowledge of basic rights, advocacy and legal processes
  • training in a variety of skill generation areas.

Travel to Nepal

There is absolutely nothing like traveling to Nepal and meeting the people behind Sammunat first hand. You can be amazed at what has been done with so little and how much more could be achieved.
