We are selling a small piece of history here. In a way, our story began with the production of these beads and our bahini beads. Sundari means beautiful and these were among the first beads we made when we were thinking about how to raise money to provide an income for some very brave ladies and how to sustain our little NGO. The designs are based on the designs we paint on our hands with mehendi (henna) and the process is very labour intensive!
We don’t often make our sundari beads any more but they hold a very special place in our hearts.
Most Samunnat jewellery is sold wholesale but our little online shop offers our one of a kind work or discontinued styles and colours. Many of the items in this store are being offered at VERY LOW sale prices. The proceeds of some sales will go towards getting three of our ladies to America for training in 2018.
